Jeffrey F. Buebendorf

A thirty-plus year veteran lawyer, Jeff’s experience in the area of employment matters ranges from representation of some of southeastern Connecticut’s largest employers (over 8,000 employees) to some of its smallest (fewer than 5). He has represented clients in Connecticut’s Superior, Appellate, and Supreme Courts and appears regularly before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities. He also assists clients with matters pending before the Connecticut and U.S. Department of Labor and the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission.

Advice Without Judgment

Jeff encourages employers to seek assistance prior to making risky adverse employment decisions. Such a proactive approach to employment issues can work, however, only if the employer’s management or human resource personnel feel comfortable reaching out for guidance. Respect, understanding, professionalism, and fostering a team approach are cornerstones of Jeff’s style in all such matters .

Respected and Trusted By His Peers

Jeff’s work within the legal and larger communities has not gone unnoticed. He maintains an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell (the highest rating offered by this nationally recognized legal resource). In 2013, he was elected by his peers to be a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and dedication to the welfare of their communities and the highest principles of the legal profession. The honor of being a Fellow is limited to fewer than one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. During a particularly difficult economic period, Jeff was asked to serve two consecutive terms as treasurer of the Connecticut Bar Association, in order to ensure the continuity of his financial stewardship during those turbulent years.
